Angels and Demons

6am... it just started raining... had to go out to my car to get my CDs... playing Possession by Sarah McLachlan from her FUMBLING TOWARDS ECSTASY album... it is my most played CD... I used to say that if I could only save one CD for posterity, that would be it... I listened to it every day for maybe ten years...

hard to pick one book... a pleasant discovery was LOOKING BACKWARD by Edward Bellamy... but I don't know what the most valuable book is... if I could only save one... I do like SOPHIE'S WORLD by Jostein Gaarder... then things like CONSILIENCE by Edward Wilson and a whole category of philosophical scientific summarys...

just thought about thinking in catergories and time periods... I remember my first Shakespeare being THE MERCHANT... kind of ironic thinking about VENICE...

and then I remember not understanding the concept of EXISTENTIALISM for years... eventually found a great book in Nashville... Existence precedes Essence...

but maybe the most memorable reading was SIDDHARTHA as a college Freshman... which is funny... I was telling someone about Joey Dellasandro yesterday... you can read about him on Wiki... I thought he was in the movie Zachariah(1971)(The First Electric Western)...

but my movie save would be MEET JOE BLACK...

so I try to buy every used... recycled... and among Saturday's purchases for a quarter was ANGELS n DEMONS... guess I'll read it before seeing the movie in a few months...

so I'm not sure if FWJ Schelling was the first to correct Descartes(1637) "I think therefore I am." to "It thinks in me."... circa 1833-34 or about 200 years later... I get the impression that Bertrand Russell popularized it from others including Rudolf Steiner and the oldest reference I found of Schelling...
