Mom

Trying to get my hyperactive elderly mother to slow down... to pursue Quality and not Quantity... to Live Smart Not Hard...

Told her I wasn't trying to rain on her parade... to make her old or to make her feel old... told it is good that she feels so young and active etc... that human parts wear out unevenly... that if a person looked great and felt great and died, that they must be young and died ahead of their time... that if they felt old and worn old etc. then they must have lived a good and long life...

Told her I felt like I was telling a little kid that there is no Santa Claus... and she looked at me and said, "But there is a GOD!"

And I replied, "Yes, there is a GOD and he is calling you... and every day he is a little closer to calling you all the way home."

And she didn't know what to say.

Obama Notre Dame/Yusuf Isalm

Haven't been able to write much while traveling... but in looking at the headlines and reading all winter, today it makes me think about the Gallop poll on abortion/stem cell research...

been reading both sci fi and then things like John Steinbeck TO A GOD UNKNOWN...

must be a flaw in our educational system that people don't know there is no god and that christianity/islam/judism and religion is a myth and that morals and behaviorial codes are created by a mix a nature and nuture...

if it is an educational flaw, is the reason techonology ??? has technological progress pushed Americans towards religion ??? or is it increased stress and an inability to deal with reality ???
